Serving Sandy & the Mt. Hood Corridor
House Cleaning in Sandy, Oregon
Meadowlark is a family cleaning company from just down Highway 26 in Gresham. Jeremy, Marika, and their son Jonah clean every house themselves, with a written checklist and a real understanding of what mountain-town living does to a house.
The last real town before the mountain
Sandy calls itself the Gateway to Mt. Hood. The name fits. Highway 26 splits into the Pioneer and Proctor couplet right through downtown, past the red-and-white checkered walls of Joe's Donuts, and every skier and cabin-goer between Portland and Government Camp funnels through town on the way up. Living here means the mountain sits at your back door, along with the weather and the grit that come with it.
It also means your house works harder than a house in the flats. Sandy sits at roughly 750 to over 1,000 feet, high enough that winter arrives earlier and hangs around longer than it does twenty minutes west. Ski boots get de-mudded in the entryway from November through spring, and firewood comes through the back door all winter. Douglas fir needles find their way into places needles should not be able to reach. We started Meadowlark to clean for this kind of living: real houses that get used hard by families who are outside more than they are in.
We are Jeremy, Marika, and our son Jonah, a family company based in Gresham about twenty minutes down 26, with fifteen years of cleaning behind us. Sandy is not the edge of our service area. It sits square in the middle of it, on the road we drive to reach everything east of us.
Two kinds of Sandy houses
Sandy's housing splits into two very different cleaning jobs, and we quote them differently because they are different.
In town, the newer subdivisions (the streets around Sandy Bluff and the growth that has pushed Sandy toward 13,000 people) are mostly newer construction: tight envelopes, big windows facing the Cascades, laminate and LVP floors that show every muddy paw print. These homes do not fight you. They do demand consistency, though, because light-colored floors and white trim broadcast neglect fast. A steady recurring cleaning every two or four weeks keeps them looking the way they did at the open house.
Outside the city limits it is a different animal, out toward Firwood and Kelso or up Cherryville way. Acreage properties, gravel driveways, wellhouses, and above all, wood heat. A wood stove or fireplace insert running all winter leaves a fine film of soot and ash on everything within reach of the living room, and it builds so gradually most people stop seeing it. Add the dust a gravel driveway kicks onto every windowsill each summer and you get houses that need a periodic reset, not a wipe-down. That reset is our deep cleaning. For homes where the buildup has had years to settle in, our restorative cleaning is the real scrub.
Then there is the mud. Every Sandy homeowner knows the season, roughly first snowfall to spring, when the entryway becomes a staging area for boots and dog towels. We pay real attention to the entryway and mudroom, and to the traffic lane between the garage door and the kitchen, because in Sandy that is where a clean house is won or lost.
The estimate comes first
Every job starts with a free in-home estimate. We come to your house and walk it with you, then put the quote in writing. The quote is the price. No hourly meter running, no surprise add-ons when we see the wood stove. Supplies are included, there are no contracts, and because we are a family company rather than a franchise, the family that quotes your house is the same family that cleans it, every visit.
Everything we do runs on our written 50-Point Clean checklist, so a clean in Sandy looks the same as a clean anywhere else we work, with nothing left to memory or mood. Most Sandy homes land on recurring service, with a deep clean as the first visit to set the baseline. Selling, or leaving a rental? Our move-out cleaning covers the full checklist an empty house needs.
Sandy's spot on the mountain corridor also means short-term rentals, and we handle those too. If you run a cabin or guest house anywhere between town and Government Camp, our vacation rental cleaning is built around turnover days and guest-ready standards. For the shops and offices along the Pioneer–Proctor couplet, we offer commercial cleaning as well.

Sandy proper, and everything past the pavement
We cover all of Sandy proper, both the older streets near Meinig Memorial Park downtown and the newer subdivisions around Sandy Bluff, plus the rural properties that surround town on every side. Kelso sits a few miles to the northwest. Firwood is a few miles southeast off 26, and the corridor keeps going east through Cherryville. Because we serve the whole US-26 corridor from Gresham up to Government Camp, homes past the end of city water and pavement are not a special request for us. They are Tuesday.
If you can see Mt. Hood from Jonsrud Viewpoint on Bluff Road, you are looking out over the country we serve. When you reach out for an estimate, tell us roughly where you are, in town or up the corridor, and we will set a time to come walk the house.
Common questions
We heat with a wood stove all winter. Can you deal with the soot film it leaves?
Soot film from wood heat is a normal condition in homes outside Sandy city limits, and we plan for it. Regular recurring visits keep the film from building on surfaces near the stove. If it has had a few winters to accumulate, we will recommend starting with a deep clean or restorative clean to reset the room before maintenance cleaning takes over, and we will tell you plainly at the in-home estimate which one your house needs.
We're on acreage outside town — Firwood, Kelso, Cherryville area. Do you actually come out that far?
We serve the whole US-26 corridor from Gresham up to Government Camp, so rural properties around Sandy are squarely inside our area, not an exception to it. Gravel-driveway dust and wood heat are normal conditions for us, and the free estimate works the same way out there. We drive out and walk the house, and the quote comes in writing.
Does ski season change how often we should have you come?
It can. A rhythm that fits Sandy well is every four weeks in summer, tightening to every two weeks from first snow through spring, when wet boots and wet dogs are moving through the entryway daily. There are no contracts, so adjusting your frequency with the seasons is a conversation, not a renegotiation.
We have a short-term rental between Sandy and Government Camp. Do you do turnovers?
Turnover days are the whole game with a rental. Our vacation rental cleaning is built for the Mt. Hood corridor, with turnover-day scheduling and a consistent guest-ready standard from the 50-Point Clean checklist. And because it is the same family every time, the property is never a stranger to the people cleaning it.
You're based in Gresham — is Sandy really in your range?
About twenty minutes down Highway 26, and Sandy sits in the middle of our east-county service area, not at the edge of it. Everything we serve runs east of the Willamette along this corridor, so a Sandy address is a normal route for us. Travel never changes your quote either; the written quote is the price.
